Nurse Practitioner Walk in Clinic

8:30am - 10am Every Weekday

For all patients aged 12 years and over

The walk in clinic is suitable for patients who need to be seen quickly, and are too unwell to wait for a routine appointment. Our nurse practitioners run the clinic, and are able to diagnose and treat problems.

To enable use to continue to provide this service, only one problem can be dealt with when you attend the walk in clinic, and you will be asked to re-book a routine appointment if you have more than one thing to discuss.

All patients are booked in at reception, and seen in order of arrival. You will be asked for a brief description of your problem/symptoms by the receptionist. If a patient attends who needs to be seen more urgently, they will take priority.

The following things are not appropriate for the walk in clinic, and if you attend for such reasons you will be asked to re-book an appointment.

Children Under 12

Mental Health

Routine/Annual Reviews

Discussing test results

Joint Injections

Chronic Disease Monitoring

Sick Notes/Private Letters

Medical, Holiday or Insurance Reports

Routine Travel Vaccinations

Repeat Prescriptions

Pregnant Patients

Review of recent hospital appointment/admission

Cytology (Smears)

If you are in doubt as to whether your problem can be dealt with in the walk in clinic, please ask at reception before you book in to avoid unecessary waiting.
